Tour of Missouri BicycleOverview

The Tour of Missouri bicycle race is broken into stages, with teams of bicyclists from all over the world racing day by day. Each day is a new stage. Your activities at this site will also be in stages. Each stage that you visit will have specific tasks for you to complete. There are reading, listening, writing, geography, math, science, and foreign language activities. They are designed to teach you about our state, our country, our world, and the people that inhabit it.

As a student, you will mainly work from the Stages page. There you will find resources and directions to complete all types of activities. There are construction tasks in which you must use computer applications to build designs of what you learn as you work. There are reading and writing tasks. For all of these, you need to read carefully and follow directions. Your teacher will decide exactly which tasks are best for you.

At each Stage you will find levels of activities, named "Gear." You probably already know that a bicycle has a gear shift, which makes the wheels rotate at different speeds. Easier-to-pedal gears are low, and as gears go up in number, they become more difficult. The gears at this site work the same way. You will see the gear levels on the Stages 1-7 pages, and your teacher will choose the gear level for you.

Most importantly, have fun! ..... On your mark, get set, go!
